Spain vs Tunisia
Competition: International friendly
Date: 9 June 2018
Kick-off: 20:45 CET
Spain became one of the first teams to arrive in Russia, choosing to play their last friendly game there, instead of back home, or elsewhere in Europe. A few days ago they only drew (1-1) with Switzerland, leaving a lot to be desired. What’s different now, is that Real Madrid players have already spent days training with the group, and we should expect to see them in action, at least some of them. It’s Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal, Marco Asensio and Isco. Remember, this is their last friendly game before their World Cup finals opener against Portugal, in less than a week. Spain have stayed undefeated in 19 matches. Their last defeat was to Italy, in France, two years ago, in Euro 2016. They have won just one of their last four games though, that… hard to believe 6-1 over Argentina back in March.
Tunisia’s unbeaten run is much shorter than that of Spain, and of course more… modest, regarding whom they faced these last months, but still, they haven’t been beaten in nine games now, and three of their last four friendly games were against World Cup finalists, Iran (1-0), Costa Rica (1-0), and Portugal (2-2). A week ago they drew again, 2-2, with Turkey, going 1-0 down, taking a 2-1 lead playing with an extra man, only to get equalized in added time. Against Spain, it feels like they’ve got nothing to lose. A defeat would end their unbeaten run, but… it’s Spain, so it wouldn’t be devastating. A big defeat, by several goals, could, maybe, shake their self-confidence. They have conceded four goals in their two recent friendly games, so there are questions regarding their defensive attitude.

Spain vs Tunisia: Head to head Stats
Tunisia and Spain have met just once before, in the 2006 World Cup finals, in Germany. The Spaniards won that game, 3-1.
Spain vs Tunisia: Prediction
The game is held in Krasnodar, Russia. Spain are considered almost certain winners. Their performance against Switzerland last week left a lot to be desired, but I feel the Swiss are a better side than Tunisia, and Spain should win this one.
Spain vs Tunisia: Betting Tips
A simple Spain win pays just 1.28. “Over 2.5 goals” is at 1.85. Combined with Spain’s victory, it goes up to 2.00. It’s up to you to decide if the extra 0.15 is worth the risk, or it would be better to stick to a simple “over 2.5”, leaving Spain’s victory aside.
