Stuttgart vs Augsburg
Competition: Germany Bundesliga
Date: 1 December 2018
Kick-off: 15:30 CET
Stuttgart failed to build on their 0-2 victory at Nurnberg, losing 2-0 at Bayer Leverkusen last weekend. They stayed at 0-0 until the 76th minute, but sort of… collapsed in the last 15. They are at the bottom of the table, on just eight points from 12 matches. Zieler, Beck, Baumgartl, Pavard, Insua, Maffeo, Gentner, Ascacibar, Aogo, Gonzalez and Gomez, these should be the first 11. Markus Weinzierl doesn’t have center-back Holger Badstuber, attacking midfielder Daniel Didavi, goalkeeper Alexander Meyer, another attacking midfielder Berkay Özcan, and left-back Borna Sosa at his disposal. All five are injured. They have scored just eight goals in 12 Bundesliga matches this season, and lost five of their last six games.
When you face a super hot team like Eintracht Frankfurt and concede less than 60 seconds into the game, you can’t expect much. Augsburg lost 1-3 at home last weekend, conceding again in the opening seconds of the second half. Their – consolation – goal came in added time, when everything was already decided. They are 13th in the table, on 13 points from 12 matches. They are expected to start with Luthe, Schmid, Gouweleeuw, Hinteregger, Max, Khedira, Baier, Jensen, Gregoritsch, Caiuby and Schieber. It’s unclear if Iceland international Alfred Finnbogason will be available. He missed last weekend’s game due to a groin problem. Thirty-six hours before kick-off, Manuel Baum was still hopeful that he’d have his key striker at his disposal. Goalkeeper Fabian Giefer, defensive midfielder Felix Götze, winger André Hahn, and central midfielder Jan Moravek are out, injured.

Stuttgart vs Augsburg: Head to head Stats
Just one win for the hosts (back in 2012), three for Augsburg, and a draw (last season), in the last five games between these two in Stuttgart.
Stuttgart vs Augsburg: Prediction
Stuttgart have scored in just one of their five home games thus far. On the other hand, Augsburg have scored and conceded in all six as guests. I don’t see a favorite to win, but I also don’t see more than two goals, keeping in mind how improved, defensively, Stuttgart looked in their last two games, even in that 2-0 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen, despite the two goals they conceded.
Stuttgart vs Augsburg: Betting Tips
“Under 2.5 goals” is at 2.00, my main tip. For more than that, I would risk with “under 2.5 goals and ‘no’ on both teams to score”, at 2.75.
