Suwon Bluewings vs Shanghai Shenhua
Competition: AFC Champions League
Date: 7 March 2018
Kick-off: 11:00 CET
Despite having just triumphed at Sydney FC, I didn’t trust Suwon Bluewings to beat Kashima Antlers at home two weeks ago, so I went for goals, suggesting “both teams to score” and “over 2.5”. Suwon made both come good late in the match, when they scored a seemingly unimportant goal to make it 1-2. They lost, but that goal may, just may prove important at the end of the group stage, if goal differences need to be taken into account. Last Thursday they played their first K-League game of the season, and lost 2-1 at home, to Jeonnam Dragons. Painful defeat, product of an added-time goal. Suwon have had big ups and downs these first weeks of the season, which makes them really hard to “read”.
Betting companies don’t trust Shanghai Shenhua, not even against Australian teams at home. To be fully honest, I didn’t trust them blindly myself either two weeks ago, so their double chance was the maximum I suggested, regarding them staying undefeated. “Both teams to score” and “over 2.5 goals” were two better-paying bets I liked when they hosted Sydney FC, and both came good as the game ended in a 2-2 draw. Shenhua are on two points from two matches in the group. The last 10 days they got humiliated by Guangzhou Evergrande in China’s Super Cup (4-1 defeat), and then drew 1-1 to Changchun Yatai at home, on their debut in the new CSL season. Paraguayan Óscar Romero played his first game for them, after his transfer from Deportivo Alavés, and scored his team’s goal.

Suwon Bluewings vs Shanghai Shenhua: Prediction
Suwon Bluewings are expected to win the game, at least by betting companies, but at just 1.57, I wouldn’t touch their victory. I prefer to bet on goals instead.
Suwon Bluewings vs Shanghai Shenhua: Betting Tips
As in previous matches in this group, I see goals. “Both teams to score” is at 1.57. Unfortunately, “over 2.5 goals” pays less than that, so… no matter how not particularly tempting this 1.57 may look, that’s what I’m staying with in this match, not taking the extra risk to suggest “over 3.5”.
