Swansea vs Southampton
Competition: Premier League
Date: 31 January 2017
Kick-off: 20:45 CET
For the first time in a long time, the Swans have pushed themselves out of the relegation zone and will be desperate to make this their charge to survival under their new manager Paul Clement. But in their way is a determined Southampton side that has finally broken their poor run.
With four losses in a row before their last game, Southampton looked to be in some real strife. Teams like Burnley, Everton and West brom had all picked up good wins against them as they free fell down the log. But all that was halted when they put three goals past a struggling Leicester side in their last Premier League match. On top of all this, Southampton have managed to push their way into the EFL final at the expense of Liverpool and will be feeling a lot more confident in their own abilities.
In saying that it may only be escaping the relegation zone, but it is a big step forward for Swansea and their new manager who has managed to get two wins in their last three games. Those two wins are added to only the three they had picked up all season prior. First it was a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers and new management team Crystal Palace, but the real gem in their revival crown is the 3-2 over Liverpool which happened in their last match.
