Tigre vs Godoy Cruz
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 3 December 2018
Kick-off: 21:10 CET
Every week that passes, it feels like Tigre’s mission to avoid relegation turns harder and harder… Last weekend they lost 2-1 at Defensa y Justicia, getting left with 10 men in the 68th minute, with the score at 1-1, and with nine men in the 85th, four minutes after going 2-1 down. If they had stayed with 11 men until the end, they would have had a chance to earn something out of that match, because Defensa did not look like… Defensa in the biggest part of the game. Center-back Ignacio Canuto and defensive midfielder Sebastián Prediger, the two guys who got sent-off last weekend, are obviously unavailable. Tigre are 19th in the Superliga table, on 14 points from 13 matches, but at the bottom of the “promedio” table, which defines which teams get relegated at the end of the season.
This is Godoy Cruz’s first official match in three weeks(!). After the international break, their scheduled game against River Plate got postponed, because River were supposed to play the return leg of the Libertadores final. Godoy Cruz accepted an invitation by Peñarol to go play a friendly game, Peñarol’s chance to celebrate their title in Uruguay, hosting an international friendly match at their stadium, to please their fans. That game was scheduled to be held on Sunday. As the Libertadores final got pushed back for Sunday, Peñarol canceled the friendly, with Godoy Cruz already in Montevideo. They knew people would prefer to watch the Libertadores final than go to the stadium for a friendly match. At the end, the Libertadores final was not held in Buenos Aires, and Godoy Cruz returned to Mendoza without having played in Montevideo. Three weeks ago they lost 2-1 at Huracán. Before that, they had won three games in a row, without conceding a single goal. They are 8th in the table, on 19 points from 12 matches.

Three wins for the hosts and two draws in the last five games between these two at José Dellagiovanna.
Tigre vs Godoy Cruz: Prediction
Tigre are considered slight favorites to win the game. Godoy Cruz have lost four of their last five away games this season, and Tigre have won two of their last three at home. All things considered, I’m leaving my reservations aside, backing the hosts to win.
Tigre vs Godoy Cruz: Betting Tips
Tigre’s victory pays 2.40. I’m staying with that, leaving special bets aside.
