Tigre vs Union Santa Fe
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 11 March 2019
Kick-off: 23:00 CET
Incredible Tigre, find themselves one win away from really-really earning the right to dream of avoiding relegation, with that dream not being… wishful thinking, but a realistic target. After Friday’s results, Belgrano, Patronato and San Martín de San Juan were all on 87 points (from 79 matches, combining the last three seasons in the “promedio” table). Tigre were on 83, after winning three matches in a row(!). A win over Unión would push them to 86 points, with three matches left. One out of those four teams will avoid relegation. This is a huge opportunity for Tigre, playing at home, in form, against an opponent who has had major ups and downs in 2019. Last weekend, Tigre beat Vélez in Liniers(!), 1-2, with Federico González scoring both their goals in the second half (they were 1-0 down at halftime).
Unión Santa Fe hosted Boca Juniors last weekend, and at halftime they were 1-0 up, producing a surprise. Just before heading to the dressing room though, they lost a player to a direct red card. Playing 10 vs 11, they lasted until the 64th minute. That’s when they got equalized, and less than 10 minutes later Boca took the lead, at which point, the game was pretty much over. Final score, 1-3. After last weekend’s games, Unión sat 10th in the table, right below the Copa Sudamericana positions. Before losing to Boca the way they lost, they had celebrated back-to-back wins over Atlético Tucumán (3-0, at home), and Huracán (1-3, in Parque Patricios).

Tigre vs Union Santa Fe: Prediction
Super tricky game… All things considered, I would avoiding choosing sides, going for goals instead. Tigre must win, they have to take risks, and this makes me expect goals.
Tigre vs Union Santa Fe: Betting Tips
“Over 2.5 goals” is at 2.20. I’m tempted to add Tigre’s double chance to that, but even 2.20 is good enough, I reckon, in such a tricky match, to avoid taking an ever bigger risk.
