Valencia vs Baskonia
Competition: Turkish Airlines Euroleague
Date: 8 March 2018
Time: 20:30 CET
Valencia were really good when they played host to Brose Bamberg last week, as they easily defeated them by 86:70. We were somewhat lucky (or maybe skilled?) for picking the Under 156.5 points in that match, and celebrated yet another nice trip to the cashier. Valencia were really great in three of the four quarters, but they were actually tragic in the second (9:23). Even so, they easily prevailed in that match, with five people scoring at least ten points. Their offense was spear-headed by Abalde who scored 18 points with 3/4 threepointers, with San Emeterio and Dubljevic each scoring 4/6 threepointers as well. Valencia need to find stability in their preformances, as this was their only win in their last four matches in all competitions. They are now sitting at the 12th spot of the Euroleague (W9 L15), scoring 76.79 points per match, while allowing 79.04 in the process. Valencia will be coming here with a handful of injury concerns, as Diot and Van Rossom have been ruled out, Pleiss is still doubtful to participate, but Vives overcame his injury and should be ready.
On the other hand, Baskonia did not make a very good start in their previous match at home, where they hosted Khimki Moscow. They found themselves down by 18:26 at the end of the first quarter, but they quickly took the upper hand in the match. They destroyed their opponents in the second and third quarter, and easily prevailed by 87:77. Shengelia exploded for 15 points and 15 rebounds, with Beaubois backing him up with 16 points, and Huertas scoring 13 more. Baskonia are now sitting at the 9th spot (W11 L13), scoring an average of 82.12 points per match, while allowing 80.54 in the process. However, they have lost nine of their thirteen away matches so far, and they are scoring 79.76 points in the process, against 81.46 conceded.

Baskonia have not been very good on the road so far in the season, and have only defeated Unicaja Malaga in their last six away matches for the Euroleague. Valencia on the other hand have been really hard to beat at home, but they have a couple of crucial injuries.
