Vasco da Gama vs Botafogo
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 15 October 2017
Kick-off: 00:00 CET
Vasco da Gama’s double chance at 1.50 and their win in “draw no bet” at 2.05 were my tips when they visited Avai a few days ago, and they won the game 2-1. Vasco were 2-0 up by the 24th minute. Seconds before the end of the first half the game looked pretty much put to bed when hosts Avai were left with ten men, but one of Vasco’s scorers, Andres Rios, got sent off as well in the 61st minute, and seconds later Avai made it 2-1. Even so, despite playing with fire, Vasco left Florianopolis with all three points. They left Atletico Paranaense behind them, earning a spot in the table, where they are now sitting 9th.
Vinícius Tanque’s goal in added time in Botafogo’s home game against Chapecoense midweek sent my “Chape double chance” (1.95) suggestion to the bin. Botafogo went 1-0 down in the 60th minute, but equalizing just six minutes later played a major role. A 1-1 is better than a 0-0 if you’re the one who equalized, the momentum is on your side, and it may have taken them until added time, but they did score that second goal they needed, pushed by their fans and the need to stay in the top six. They remain 6th in the table, but not only they left Flamengo three points behind them (Fla drew to Fluminense), but also closed the gap to Gremio and Palmeiras, both of whom dropped points midweek.

Vasco da Gama vs Botafogo: Head to head Stats
Two wins for Vasco and three draws in the last five games between these two with Vasco as hosts. None of those five matches had more than two goals.
Vasco da Gama vs Botafogo: Prediction
Vasco have lost just one of their last six Serie A matches, but their performances and results cannot compare to those of Botafogo, who have won five of their last six games (losing only to Vitoria, at home, 2-3, conceding two goals in added time!!). All things considered, I’m backing the visitors to earn at least a draw.
Vasco da Gama vs Botafogo: Betting Tips
Botafogo’s double chance pays 1.53. Their win in “draw no bet” comes at 2.05 betting odds.
