Watford vs Cardiff
Competition: England Premier League
Date: 15 December 2018
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
Watford were left with a bittersweet taste last weekend, at the end of that 2-2 at Everton. They conceded first, but they scored twice in the second half, in a matter of two minutes. They were leading 1-2 until added time, when they got equalized. Bitter, because they came so close to leaving Liverpool with all three points, but sweet as well, as they earned something from a game in which they conceded first, away from home, against a tough rival. They are 12th in the table, on 21 points. Foster, Kabasele, Cathcart, Kiko, Holebas, Quina, Doucoure, Pereyra, Sema, Success and Deeney, these should be the first 11. Etienne Capoue is suspended, Daryl Janmaat and Tom Cleverley are injured. Watford haven’t won in their last six matches, both at home and away. They won their first three games of the season as hosts, but ever since then, they’ve won just one, and lost four.
Callum Paterson’s goal in the 74th minute last weekend earned Cardiff all three points at home, hosting Southampton. It was their third home win in a row, and fourth in their last five matches there. Things look… dramatically different if you isolate their away games; they have earned just one point from seven, and scored just three goals, I repeat, in seven away matches. They have lost five in a row, but in their defense, three of those away games were at Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool. They are expected to start with Etheridge, Bamba, Bennett, Morrison, Manga, Arter, Camarasa, Gunnarsson, Murphy, Paterson and Mendez-Laing. They have four guys with injury problems, Ward, Cunningham, Richards and Zohorè. Cardiff are 14th in the table, on 14 points.

Watford vs Cardiff: Head to head Stats
Watford haven’t hosted Cardiff since 2014. Back then, the visitors won 0-1. A year earlier, the game between these two at Watford’s home had ended without goals.
Watford vs Cardiff: Prediction
The hosts are considered clear favorites to win the game, but I would leave winners and losers aside, and bet on goals in this match.
Watford vs Cardiff: Betting Tips
With just one exception, that 3-0 over Bournemouth, Watford have looked poor offensively in their last home games. Cardiff have been… consistently poor away from home. With these in mind, I would risk with “under 2.5 goals”, at 1.90, and with “no” on “both teams to score”, at 1.80.
