West Ham United vs Arsenal
Competition: Premier League
Date: 03 December 2016
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
West Ham have had a particularly tough week in terms of opposition as they played Manchester United twice and now have to face off against an Arsenal side that has stuttered a little in recent time.
West Ham began their slog against United with a 1-1 draw in the Premier League, but then were blown away 4-1 in the EFL Cup in mid week. The onslaught looks set to continue because Arsenal may be stuttering, but they will be targeting a tired West Ham for potential full house of points. West Ham are trying to claw their way away from the relegation zone, and even their one point against United saw them jump to 16th above Crystal Palace. They are on a four match winless run though, with two draws and two losses. Before their Unite draw they were also made to face off against Spurs where they lost a cracking game 3-2.
Arsenal went through a stage where they could do nothing but win, however, they may not be losing now, but their draws have seen them slide slightly down the congested log. Currently, Arsenal are in fourth due mostly to the six points they have lost in three draws in their last five games. They managed to beat Bournemouth, but all three teams above them also won, keeping the difference between first and fourth still at three points. Arsenal had tough draws against United and Tottenham, but then an unexpected draw against Middlesbrough. They will look for a win away at West Ham.
West Ham United vs Arsenal: Head-to-Head Stats
A game that has been played over 20 years of Premier League history, but in those 40 meetings West Ham only have a paltry seven wins. There have been eight draws, but Arsenal have dominated the fixture with an amazing 25 wins. However, last season West Ham took the honours with a win and a draw.
West Ham United vs Arsenal: Prediction
Arsenal are stuttering, but they still are in it and not losing games. It seems unlikely that they will lose this game, but there could well be another draw in it. The only problem is that West Ham have been shocking in their new stadium, the Olympic Stadium, so Arsenal may be able to take advantage of this unexpected factor and win here 2-1.
West Ham United vs Arsenal: Tips
Arsenal’s impressive goalscoring form has also faltered with all their draws, but at West Ham’s Own bogey stadium this could turn around. Back the likes of Ozil or Walcott to score.
