Wisla Krakow vs Korona Kielce
Competition: Poland Ekstraklasa
Date: 28 February 2017
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
In the Piast Gliwice vs Wisla Krakow preview I wrote that the way I saw things, Wisla’s 3-2 win over Arka Gdynia a week earlier was mostly-mostly down to Arka’s defensive, and most of all, goalkeeping mistakes. Last weekend, in Gliwice, they found opposite them a team that kept their defensive mistakes to the absolute minimum, and a goalkeeper who didn’t make them any gifts. Wisla had some chances to score, but only a few, and not really huge ones, excluding maybe one. On the other hand, they allowed Piast half a dozen chances, some of them big ones. All in all, if there is one team that deserved less than a point last weekend in Gliwice, I feel that was Wisla Krakow.
“Both teams to score”, at 1.80, was my only tip last weekend in the Korona Kielce vs Lech Poznan match, Korona were 1-0 up since the 70th minute, Lech earned a penalty deep into added time, it looked like my tip would come good, but Zlatan Alomerovic, Korona’s keeper, denied Christian Gytkjaer, and the referee blew his whistle for the last time a second later, ending the game. The tip didn’t come good, but in full honesty, I feel football justice was done. Lech looked as… cynical and uninspiring as almost always, but still came awfully close to earn a point. Korona were the only team on the pitch that really tried to produce something, missed way more chances than Lech, took the lead (no matter what a super lucky goal that was), and all in all, I feel they deserved to earn all three points. They did, they are now 5th in the table, having picked up seven points from their three matches after the winter break.

Four wins for Wisla and one draw in the last five games between these two in Krakow. Only one of those five matches went over 2.5 goals.
Wisla Krakow vs Korona Kielce: Prediction
Korona have dropped the ball more than once or twice earlier in the season, sometimes right after playing an awesome game, while Wisla Krakow have impressed right after having looked super poor. My point is, this game is extra tricky, but all things considered, I’m backing Korona to earn at least a draw.
