Wisla Krakow vs Wisla Plock
Competition: Poland Ekstraklasa
Date: 10 August 2018
Kick-off: 20:30 CET
Wisla Krakow traveled to Bialystok last weekend to face Jagiellonia having earned four points from their first two matches in the Ekstraklasa, both at home. They were facing an opponent who had played a… crazy 4-4 match 72 hours earlier in Portugal, in the Europa League qualifiers, and had another EL qualifying game a few days later. The timing felt perfect for Wisla, they had looked good in their first two games, especially defensively, but… They lost 1-0, conceding in the 60th minute. They were not exactly… bad, but they definitely missed that extra something you need to get a result away from home against a better team (and there is zero doubt that Jaga are a better team than Wisla). On four points from three matches, all four earned at home, they are given the chance to build on that good home tally, hosting a team that is just on one point from their three matches.
“Both teams to score” (1.80) was my main tip last weekend when Wisla Plock hosted Korona Kielce. In their first two games in the Ekstraklasa, both they and their opponents had scored, and exactly the same was the case with Korona as well, so “both teams to score” made perfect sense. It came good, the tip, but Wisla did worse than what I expected, losing the game 1-2. In their defense, they had to play with 10 men since the 35th minute, when Georgian winger Giorgi Merebashvili got sent-off (second yellow card). It’s not just that they lost a player, they lost one of their best players. They finished the game on just four attempts, and only one on target, their goal in added time. That Merebashvili red card in the first half really left its mark on how the rest of the game went.

Wisla Krakow vs Wisla Plock: Head to head Stats
Two wins for the hosts and one for the guests in three matches between these two in Krakow the last year and a half. Before that, they hadn’t played there since 2006.
Wisla Krakow vs Wisla Plock: Prediction
Despite the fact that Wisla Krakow have done well at home in their two previous matches, and Wisla Plock are on just one point from three matches, I’m taking a leap of faith with the visitors, feeling that their poor tally thus far is not really representative of their quality. I expect them to react in Krakow.
