Zulia vs Nacional Potosi
Competition: Copa Sudamericana
Date: 16 April 2019
Kick-off: 22:00 CET
It has been four weeks now and I am still pinching myself to believe that Zulia won(!) in Bolivia, in the first leg against Nacional Potosí. The Bolivian side finished the game on 54(!) attempts, yes, you read that right, 54, and 79% ball possession, but Zulia took perfect advantage of a counterattack in added time to leave Potosí’s altitude with an incredible victory. In five matches since then, they celebrated just one more win, and that was thanks to a late-late goal, at home, against Deportivo Anzoátegui. Last weekend they lost 3-1 at Carabobo, being 3-0 down early in the second half. They are just 14th in Venezuela’s championship, on 17 points from 12 matches.
As previously mentioned, Nacional Potosí had 54 attempts in the first leg, three on the post, two back-to-back in a matter of seconds, and that was not their only “double chance” in the game; at least half a dozen times they had back-to-back attempts in no more than 4-5 seconds, either because Zulia’s goalkeeper had denied them, or a Zulia defender had blocked a shot. Truth is, Nacional got careless towards the end of the match, attacking with nine men, leaving just one behind, plus their goalkeeper. In added time, that one guy who was left behind, could not cope with Zulia’s two players who spent their last little drops of energy going forward. Nacional remain leaders in Bolivia’s championship, despite losing last weekend, to Bolívar, at home, 0-1.

Zulia vs Nacional Potosi: Head to head Stats
The game in Bolivia some weeks ago was the first ever between these two.
Zulia vs Nacional Potosi: Prediction
The hosts are considered slight favorites to win, which suits me just fine, because it makes betting on Nacional (my choice in this game) even more worth it.
Zulia vs Nacional Potosi: Betting Tips
Nacional’s win in “draw no bet” pays 2.25, with their double chance at 1.62. “Draw or Nacional” combined with “over 1.5” pays 2.45. I have a 1-1 or 1-2 hunch.
